Ableton Mixing Rack
**Ableton Suite 11.0.6 or newer is required
!!! Now also Available for Ableton Suite 10.1.35 or higher
I've been going back using the PUSH a lot lately and made a new Ableton Rack that makes mixing with the PUSH so much easier.
But since it's such a great rack and you don't really need the PUSH to use, it can make your mixing life a lot easier.
Just throw it on every track and adjust the knobs to your liking to get a solid mixed project.
All the essentials are loaded in: Low and High Pass Boosters/cutters, Compressions, Saturation, Mid/Side Balance, Mid-Freq color, and parallel Reverb & Delay.
The rack is using smart frequency splitting for coloring the mid frequencies using invert phasing that won't affect the sound at all (by changing the phase with other methods
This rack in addition to the PUSH default mixing controls - Volume, Panning, and Sends gives you all the tools to achieve a solid mix directly from the PUSH (or without!)
MACROS
Lows – Low shelf using Ableton's Channel EQ
Highs – High Shelf using Ableton's Channel EQ
Compress – Glue compression with one knob to control the Threshold and Makeup gain. Can make things very loud!
Saturate – Post analog clipping that gradually becomes parallel saturation
Mid/Side Balance – Using the Utility hidden mode to gain control over the Mid/Side balance. Note that if the track you are working on doesn't have any side information you will hear nothing when turned all the way to the right (try adding a stereo delay or reverb before the rack to add stereo information)
Mids Color – The mid frequencies are being isolated by invert phasing (a nested rack you can check out) to go through various EQ shapes to give more character to your sounds.
Delay – Parallel delay using a custom preset for Echo
Reverb – Parallel Reverb using a custom preset for Hybrid Reverb
